1. Backpack should weight no more than 15% of your body weight. This can be a challenge. Consider buying used copies of your textbooks to keep at home to limit how many books you carry. I have purchased some of my kid books for $5-$10.
2. Wear both straps and pull them tight so the backpack does not “drag”on your shoulders. My kids tell me this is not cool, but who cares? This is important.
3. Pack your heaviest books closest to your back, and the lighter ones further away. This will minimize the stress on your shoulders and back.
