If the First Lady could MAKE time for herself knowing that it is not selfish but crucial to her well being and her ability to take care of others, then we ought to be able to do the same.
I know from experience how hard it is to prioritize ourselves as moms and as women. I have 5 kids: 2 are “grown and flown”, 1 is in college, 1 works full time, and 1 is still in high school. When my 5th baby was born, I had an 8 year old, a 7 year old, a 5 year old and a 4 year old.I know how hard it is to MAKE time for oneself. But I also know that I had to do it. For me, my primary “me time” was exercise. It gave me time to clear my head, to burn off calories and to re-energize my batteries. I also wanted to model a healthy lifestyle for my family. I know that I was (am) a better mother and wife when I take time to invest in myself.

Our group classes are small and everyone is friendly. You get to know the others in the class. It’s nice to have some conversations that don't revolve around kids and work. It’s nice to just “be”.
