Day 1: Saturday: We moved all of our equipment and misc stuff to the new space. By “we” we mean my family :). We had piles of stuff jammed into the space and frankly, we were not sure how it was going to fit. We spent the rest of Saturday rearranging the equipment to make it fit. We found a set up that we liked. Or would it be more appropriate to say we found a setup that I liked and that I thought would work!
Day 2: Sunday. We took the morning off for church, and putzed around in the space in the afternoon. We had to try and find a place for everything, because we knew that we needed to be able to find what we needed for classes on Tuesday!
Day 3: Monday. We moved everything again for what I thought was an even better fit. We hung curtains and we wiped up the dust. (Most of the dust was left from the renovation, and we seemed to stir it up by moving the equipment around). This was no ordinary dust. It took 6 times through the space to get all the dust wiped up. Finally we were all set for our wonderful clients to come in for their classes and private sessions.
Day 4: Tuesday - First Day in New Space - After our first class on Tuesday, we decided to move everything again after we saw legs bumping together during leg circles. All the pictures of Joseph Pilates and his studios show mats and equipment very close together, but I'm pretty sure he didn't want students bumping legs during leg circles.
Day 5 and Day 6 -- Wednesday and Thursday - We moved everything yet again. We think that we have the best fit now.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we made this transition. Until we put everything into action, all of our best plans were theory only. The good thing is that the you get the same great workout, no matter where the machines are placed in the room.
The response to the new space has been great. Everyone loves how open, bright and airy the studio is. It feels cozy and comfortable too. There has been an issue with the AC, but we are talking to the landlord about that and it should be resolved any day. We appreciate your patience.
